Prompt 3: We talk about mother’s guilt a lot…who needs it? Describe a good mom moment!
Very recently, I came across this video on a blog I was reading. I can’t for the life of me remember who’s blog featured this song, so if it was you, please let me know!
It took hearing just 15 seconds of the song to send me clicking over to iTunes. I’m not a person who typically favors Christian music, but this song is so beautiful and easy on the ears.
“Your Hands” by JJ Heller
A couple days after I purchased the song, it was almost time to head up to bath when it started playing on my iTunes.
I called Kate over, who crawled into my lap. She really enjoys music, and had already picked up some of the lyrics. She leaned into my chest, wrapped her arms around me, and we rocked side to side with the music.
It wasn’t long before Madelyn scurried over.
She, too, crawled into my lap, leaned against big sis Kate and tried her darndest to sign along.
So there we sat. One mom and her 2 little girls, arms wrapped around one another, swaying from side to side while singing along to this beautiful song.
For those few precious, fleeting moments, my usually-*rambunctious* kids were being sweet and loving and adorable
It was the makings of a Hallmark card.
I wish that moment could have lasted forever.

Those sweet snuggly moments are the best! Off to listen to the song…
What a beautiful song and such a sweet story. Those moments really are the best, aren’t they?
Great story!
Awww don’t you just love those angelic moments and wish we can capture it forever and store it in a time capsule or something like that?
PS: The video finally load on me and I just realized that’s K-Love! I love that song and the station…been listening to their online streams here
Believe it or not I had about the same experience with my son on the exact same song sitting at the computer listening from someone’s blog. We swayed from side to side as I got teary eyed and wished I could bottle up the moment. Amazing! I do love this song!
It really is the simple moments that mean the most isn’t it? I’m off to check that song out on ITunes myself!
Such a sweet moment. The song is beautiful. Now I’m clicking over to iTunes.
Awwww. So sweet!
That is so sweet. I use music to get Gunne to snuggle with me all the time.
Those are the moments I wish I could bottle and open up later when my kids have all outgrown my lap and I have no one left to climb up for a cuddle.
I just love those moments, especially when they are few and far between! We are known to dance in the kitchen while I’m preparing meals- I have speakers in there for my ipod to plug in to! What a great moment!
I think snuggles are the anti-guilt.
{tear} Love your post! I, too, love this song. I love when I catch it on the radio.
That’s a precious song.
I am obsessed with music and the magical effect it can have on your mood. Now if only I was at home and could watch/listen to that song!
What an absolutely wonderful moment. Those are the moments I live for.
The song is a good one too. I’m not big on Christian music either, but that one is beautiful.
What a perfect moment! thanks for sharing
What a wonderful song AND a wonderful moment you describe!
(Your Comment Form and I are friends again. Thanks for talking to it about our situation.)
Teary eyed! Those moments are SO fleeting aren’t they! My kiddos are with gramma right now and reading this makes me really miss them
{ Although, I’m insanely thankful for the break! }
Have a great day!
Those moments are so rare. I am glad you had a chance to cherish it!
I’m glad you had such a nice moment with you girls, that is awesome. You can’t manufacture those, they just happen.
I gathered Hank and Maren to listen to the song with me because I thought it was nice too and it didn’t go so well in my household.
Maren said “she looks like a boy” and “she doesn’t sound very good does she mom?” and then Hank spilled my coffee on my laptop.
That is a sweet mommy moment for sure! Oh and gotta mention that I love how your blog stores all my info so all I ever have to enter is the comment…so cool!
First off, I LOVE Christian radio/music. Tenth Avenue North and their song “Healing Begins” is my favorite right now…. That is wonderful that you could all recognize the substance in the moment and the music!
Oh Liz, I love those moments! You just have to imprint them on your soul, to save for the days that they are once again rambunctious!!
Thanks for sharing that sweet mommy moment with us!
Very sweet. I’ve actually had that one on my blog before. I rotate them lots, but it’s a fav here.
What a great song, and great moment with your girls!
I love it when the world slows down for a second and you can enjoy the sweet, fleeting moments of your children. I’ll bet they loved it as much as you did!
What a wonderful moment with your girls. Those are some of my favorite moments too.
It’s those precious moments that we can never get back, but we’ll remember forever!
I love it! And I love that you were able to have that moment with your daughters! I cherish every moment with my boys, but the times when they want to be close to me and snuggle with me are so special!
ohmygoodness, this is so precious. (and what a beautiful song.) though my little one is not old enough to even give me a hug yet, he does at times just rest his head on my shoulder as if to sink in and just breathe in the momma love. to say it melts my heart would be an understatement. {sigh}
O.K…I usually don’t read comments but as I scrolled down the enormous list to get to the comment form, I read Poppy’s comment….CRACKED.ME.UP!! That is so hilarious!!
I love JJ Heller’s music. She’s different than so many other christian artists!! So good!
What a perfect moment…and it was all yours!!
So sweet! Moments like those are what motherhood is all about.
Those are the moments to remember. They make nostalgia for our kids younger years possible.
Such a beautiful song…and a wonderful moment you had with your girls.
What a beautiful moment…times to treasure. And isn’t it interesting that even these few precious minutes will stay with you forever? Sweet:)
So lovely!
[And how did the bath go? Was there peace on earth and good will to Moms?]
I wish we can keep these moments locked up and bring them out when we need it …. this is why I started to scrapbook
Cherish these moments, it is what makes everything else worthwhile.
I love moments like those…when all is peaceful. We had a moment a few months ago, that I just loved…It wa a major snow storm, and the snow was nothing less beautiful and mesmerizing than a huge white fleece God set on us…So the boys and I took to the empty street and had a BLAST!!!!! Snow angels, snowball contests, everything we could think of, even a game of football! And the best part? A nice cup of cocoa waiting for us upstairs…I love snow days…
Did your heart just absolutely melt? What an incredible moment. You should print this out and put it in a baby book or something. This is something to remember when you are 70 and they have families of their own. So sweet.
These kinds of moments are the ones we should cherish forever – with these kinds of moments I wish that someone had a camera to take a picture or some video.
A nice idea for a blog post – going to do one in next week about such a moment I had with my kids
I absolutely LOVE moment like that, and am so glad that you shared this one with us!!! SO so sweet!
Now you have captured it forever on your blog and it makes it doubly sweet.
What a tender moment… It’s times like these that make it all worth it.
Pretty song, too. I think I’ll head over to iTunes now.
I love moments like that! I read a Junie B. Jones book to the boys the other night and my little ones were so tickled that they couldn’t sit up. I loved it. Those are the moments that you just live for as a mom!
What a perfect moment to treasure!
Love the song.
First, what a sweet and adorable moment! Sencond, I started off thinking this is sweet, calm moment with her babies. There’s no way she’ll sneak a *rambunctious* in there! Drats! Foiled again! lol
