Prompt 1.) If you could do it over again…
If I could do it over again…I wouldn’t have quit dance for soccer.
I’d have majored in something different in college.
I’d have lived in the city.
I’d have looked for a different job while we still lived in Chicago.
I’d have chosen to have my wedding either in the spring or fall, instead of in the summer.
I’d have honeymooned in Europe instead of St. Lucia.
I’d have sky dived (before kids were a factor).
I’d have visited New Orleans before Katrina.
I’d have given Madelyn Rose a different name.
If I could do it over again…I never would have moved to New Hamsphire.
Except that even living in all our misery and remodeling that money pit of a house, we learned a lot about ourselves, our skills and our wills.
We also learned that the grass isn’t always greener, which is an invaluable life lesson.
But for all the Do-Overs, there are things I wouldn’t change.
I’m glad that we DID follow through on our trip to NYC in November 2001 because what we saw, I will never forget.
And I’m glad that I DID pierce my navel in college…along with adding 3 additional holes to my ears.
I’m glad I DID bungee-jump on Spring Break.
And that I karaoke-ed then, too.
And that we DID make that initial leap of faith and moved out of Illinois.
And that we DID decide to have a second child.
I don’t think it’s so much a matter of do-overs as it is living life. There are experiences to be had and lessons to be gleaned from everything. And, sure, there are all things we SHOULD have done differently, but the key is that we did them.

Madeline was our second choice for our daughter (same name, diff. spelling)…I think its a beautiful name, but our wee girl was holding the cards for something else. Curious what you majored in now. And I appreciate your prospective about the act of doing. :>
I found Mama Kat just a couple of weeks ago (thanks to BF, SITS) and have wanted to play along with her writer’s workshops. I’ll need to pay attention next week so that I can!
Hope you are having a wonderful day….or at the very least, that you took on the day and its almost Friday! :>:>
I totally enjoyed my 5yrs living in NH!
What would you have named Madelyn instead?
What a great post, Lady!!! It was really cool to learn so much about you – what a great way of sharing . . . no regrets in life, though – because if you would do any of those things over, you wouldn’t be who you are today. Today – I wish you a great day!!!
The road we travel to arrive where we are at present is usually rough, but if not for the pot holes, I don’t think we could really appreciate where we ended up.
And I love you. And where you are at present is beautiful.
