The biggest concern in our lives during this past year has definitely been Maddie’s speech development. But between starting her in an early education program and as well as private speech therapy sessions, we’re thrilled to be on a new path!
Things I am thankful (to hear) for this year:
“Pick me up!”
“Elmo on my di-puh!”
“Bad doggy – no, no!”
“Helf you, mama!”
“Oh, wight!”
“Rudolph!”
(Touching finger to lips like she’s thinking hard) “Con mem-buh!” Her way to say she can’t remember.
And the cherry on top?
“Luh loo, mama!” Her way to say “love you!”
Happy Thanksgiving!

Awww! Horray for Maddie.
Hope the Belle, Bean, Dog family has a great Thanksgiving!
Have a safe and blessed Thanksgiving!
FanTAStic, Maddie!!!! Those are truly the best words I’ve heard all day!

way to go maddie!! happy thanksgiving!!
So stinkin’ cute. I love it when they learn to talk. Happy Thanksgiving!
Today it’s “helf you, mama!” and tomorrow it’s
“mother please. you know that I don’t care for the crusts on my organic almond butter and banana butter sandwiches. Actually, I’m tired of these sandwiches altogether. Tomorrow, I would prefer sushi. You may be excused.”
That is fantastic. Happy healthy kids is a mother needs. The handbag goes without saying, of course.
Wonderful! Happy Thanksgiving Liz.
yay for SENTENCES! awesome! Happy Thanksgiving Liz!
I love every single one of those phrases.
Every one.
What an amazing wee girl.
Love to all of you today.
I love little kid talk! I could seriously listen to it all day! Hope your Thanksgiving is wonderful!
A child’s words are the most adorable thing. Ever. Well, at least 57% of the time. The Chalupa just started saying, “Membuh when…” Kills me every time. But ‘love you’ takes the cake.
Hope you’re having a wonderful holiday!
Hope you have a great Thanksgiving! Enjoy some pie! Have a great night!
Mama Hen
Oh well that’s just adorable! The “memba” one is the cutest! Happy thanksgiving to you all!
So sweet. I love the mispronunciations of little kids.
Hope you had a happy Thanksgiving!
That is wonderful! I know how proud you are of her. I’ve been there too. When they finally get it, when it all starts to flow, that is a magical moment. Congratulations to Maddie! Happy Thanksgiving, Liz.
I remember the fear and then joy I felt during my son’s journey with speech development. The relief is intense and those first, fumbling-but-clear words are the best!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
The best words a child can ever learn…I love you. Swoon. Have a great thanksgiving my American friend
Oh that is something to be thankful for! Happy Thanksgiving!
oh so sweet!!!! Yay!
Luh loo too!
Awwww, she is too cute
So sooooooo sorry I’m late but I hope you and the family had a very happy Thanksgiving!!
And next year – ‘No, Mom, let me clean up all the dishes while you sit down and rest’. (Ok maybe a year or 2!)
That’s wonderful! I love when they begin talking. My youngest is two and he’s barely saying words.
Can’t remember…now that has gotta sound so cute!
I absolutely love when my niece and nephew tell me they love me. It’s the best feeling in the world. Definitely something to be thankful for.
Awww you are truly blessed, my friend. Those I luh loo is the cutest thing ever!
Definitely some great reasons to be thankful! Happy Thanksgiving – hope your day was wonderful, relaxing, and filled with pumpkin flavor!
“Luh loo”…that is sooo sweet! They are all precious…gotta get her on videotape with these adorable phrases.
I still love when my son used to say “froggity” instead of foggy.
I am so happy for you all. I know that this is a huge step for you as a family that has been hard fought for.
Hope your Thanksgiving was wonderful. Those kiddos give us so much to be thankful for…even the simplest things!
Way to go, Maddie! Wonderful words to be thankful for!
Keep us posted on her progress.
