Bounce Dryer Bar Review + $50 VISA Giftcard Giveaway

Laundry. The bane of many moms’ existences. I’m kinda weird in that I don’t really mind doing laundry. The sorting into piles, the loading and unloading; that’s all good. It’s always the folding that gets me.

In some ways, the summers are the prime laundry season. We rarely, if ever, wear socks, so the whites pile is automatically cut in half. And we rarely wear jeans or pants, so that helps to cut down on my weekly load count, too. The flip side of summertime is all the pool towels, though. Until you have a pool in your backyard, you don’t think about how many towels you will go through on a regular basis.

I can’t say I’ve ever put pen to paper on this before, but I’d say a “good” laundry week looks like this: 2 loads of bed sheets, 2 loads of bath towels, 1 load of whites, 1 load of lights, 1 load of darks, 1 load of workout clothes. That’s 8 loads of laundry if I’m lucky, with that count ticking upwards of 12 when I add in kitchen towels, jeans, pool towels or any guest room laundry.

We have a high-efficiency washer/dryer set, with the detergent and fabric softener being added into specific sections of the pull-out drawer. One issue that constantly nags at me, oftentimes even more so than folding the clean clothes does, is when I forget and pour the liquid fabric softener into its cubby hole in the washer drawer for a load of workout clothes. My husband is an avid cyclist and feels very strongly that all his exercise gear needs to be washed with detergent only and hung to dry. I guess that grabbing for 2 different bottles and loading up 2 different liquids with each load is such a habit for me that I have a hard time not doing it each time I wash his exercise stuff.

Bounce just came out with a dryer bar that actually sticks to the inside of your dryer’s drum, thus eliminating the extra step of adding either liquid fabric softener to your washer or a dryer sheet to your dryer.

To apply the Bounce Dryer Bar to your dryer, all you have to do is peel back a layer of paper to expose the sticky strip, then stick it and forget it!

Another great feature of the Bounce Dryer Bar is its ability to repel hair. We consider our chocolate Cocker Spaniel, Jack, to be the 5th member of our family and the only one of our kids who is allowed to share our bed on a regular basis. The first load of laundry I ran after installing the Bounce Dryer Bar were the sheets from our king size bed. When I pulled them out of the dryer, not only were they soft, but I noticed dozens of tiny, brown dog hairs clinging to the dryer bar.

I hate folding clothes after they are clean and putting them away…I have a bad habit of letting the clean clothes sit clean in the basket for days! LOL
