Dear Kate,
As of today, you are 6 years old. Last year when you turned 5, it was a very big moment for me and Daddy. Turning 5 meant there was no more baby or toddler in you. And now that you are 6? Well, 6 seems so far the other side of 5 it’s not even funny. From now on, your age can be referred to as a grade in school, and you’ll need to use both hands to show your age.
As we watch you blossom into a backpack-toting, homework-doing, independent kid, I have some special wishes for you.
I wish for you to forever keep your zest for life. We all adore your exuberance.
I wish for you to always be surrounded with much happiness and positivity. You have such a tender heart.
I wish for you to always remain steadfast in your compassion for others. The world needs more caring, open-minded people like you.
I wish for you to let down your guard a little. You don’t need to be perfect or right all the time. Plus, life is too short for all that.
