I owe this ALL to YOU GUYS!
And not just because you are awesome, witty commenters, but because YOU GUYS mentioned that the comment love letter thing was a fun, clever idea. And then the super fabulous Roxane told me – straight up – that it would be a cool idea for a blog hop!
So now it is.
If YOU GUYS missed my 2 previous comment love letters, you might want to check them out here and here to have a better idea of how this works.
Basically, a comment love letter is a post comprised solely of comments left on your blog from the previous week’s posts. I do NOT claim creative credit for this idea because I recall seeing it a long time ago, somewhere in the blogosphere. But I DO take credit for the “Chicago” twist in the name, Dear You Guys…
Rules:
-Comments used are from the posts published in the previous week.
-There is NO editing done to the comments left!
-You DO create paragraphs with the comments, though, so a sentence left by one person might fall in line behind a sentence or 2 left by another person. But all of their sentences are exactly what they wrote.
For example, the last line in my second comment love letter was this:
I think I love Craig more now. *side note–i would totally have his babies*
The first sentence was from 1 person, but second sentence was someone different.
-You need to be creative in order to make it work, and will get oodles of practice cutting and pasting while putting together your love letter. Remember, the more you mix it up with various comments, the more entertaining it will be!
-Grab a badge and add it to your Dear You Guys… post!
-I’ll open a Blog Hop Linky for each week’s post (on Saturdays), so feel free to grab the linky code and host it on your blogs, too!
-I realize that the nature of your posts for the week dictate the type and quality of your comments. I’m sure there will be weeks where I don’t have a comment love letter to link up, but I will always have a Dear You Guys… post on Saturdays.
Any questions, please email me! Otherwise, the first “official” week for Dear You Guys… as a blog hop is Saturday, Sept. 4th! So, get ready!

we are newish and still don’tget the tons of comments but I am SURE I could do this. GREAT idea for a meme.
Love it! I think you get some very funny commenters, Liz, so you will always have stuff to work with. Me? I get some spam, invites to “follow me, I’m following you!!”, and then those awesome comments from my bloggy faithfuls. Can’t wait to try it!
I’ll give it a whirl on the 4th!
What a GREAT idea!!!!!
This is one blog hop I’ll have to try and do sometimes!!!
YEA!!
Great idea!! I’ll be copying and pasting later this weekend.
Should be fun.
Oh clever! I blog an online soap opera at http://godeeperliz.blogspot.com/ in place of daily musings so the comments come either from those who are so worked up they have to hide in their office for a while or those who don’t understand it’s fiction and give the main character parenting advice on how deal with her ornery four year old! This could be hilarious!
Thanks for starting!

Another fabulous idea Liz!
Yeah, I don’t get enough comments to do this. (cue sad violin music). But it is a great idea!
You know this is just making me want to leave dirty comments everywhere I go, right?
As in now… today? Or whenever?
What a great blog you have. I found your blog through Mama’s Little Nestwork and I can’t wait to read more. I’m your newest follower.

I was totally gonna do one and link up, but I had all sorts of stuff going on today and never got the chance! So sorry. I promise, I’ll be here next week.
This really is a cool idea and I love the button you made for it!
Thank you so much for the mention, Liz. You can’t give me too much credit though, you did the whole thing, I just said “blog hop!”
Love ya!
I’m going to have to step up my comment game.
that’s funny!!! but i’m pretty sure it should be “Dear Yous Guys”
Wow creative idea! Elle and I will have to try to link up one of these times to see how it works out
This is super fun, Liz! And now I’m going to have to leave some EXTRA spicy thoughts for you. In my comments of course. Just to make it even more exciting. Hehehehe.
This is so cool! Can’t wait to read!
